Community Education Tutoring

Community Education is an additional resource to help connect families with tutors. Community Education tutors are selected from a pool of certified and non-certified District staff, substitutes, and other qualified individuals.

  • Matches are made based on student grade level, need/s, availability, location, and, tutor expertise and availability.
  • Families may request a specific staff member. If that staff member is participating as a Community Education tutor, we will reach out to them to verify their availability.
  • Families may request a preferred school location for tutoring sessions during the school year. During the summer, tutoring will only take place at Hudson High School in reserved spaces.

What should I know about Community Education tutoring?

  • Tutoring is limited to the available pool of tutors. The tutor pool changes throughout the school year.
  • Requests for tutors, and placement are not guaranteed.
  • Timely email responses during the matching process help us secure a tutor as quickly as possible.
  • Families must create an Eleyo parent/guardian account with a saved payment method before a tutor match can be finalized. Use this link to set up an account in Eleyo.

What is the cost for tutoring?

The cost for one-to-one tutoring with Community Education is $26.00/hr.

How does payment work?

  • Payment is not charged upfront. Once tutoring has begun and tutors submit session logs, your saved payment method will be charged approximately every 6-8 weeks (timing may vary based on breaks, missed sessions, re-scheduling).
  • Eleyo will automatically email receipts of processed payments to the address you have on file.
  • Families are encouraged to check in with their tutor on when the tutor expects to submit their session logs for payment.
