• 4K Wrap Care Cost: $25.00/day; an additional $5.35 per session of Before or After School care if needed

• 4K Wrap Care Basics

• 4K wrap care is offered during the school day for children enrolled in a Hudson School District 4K site.
• Families may choose to use before or after school care (School Age Care) in addition to 4K wrap care.
• Drop-in care is not available for 4K wrap care, families must sign up for Monday – Friday care.

Our 4K Wrap Care Day

The 4K Wrap Care program provides quality childcare in a fun, safe, and caring environment. The program fosters self-esteem while promoting the interests and social development of each child. Activities will include group and individual time.

Activities include:

• Exploration and discovery
• Dramatic play
• Large motor activities
• Creativity – art and music
• Story time
• Rest time and snack

• Outdoor time:

• Families should plan for children to be outdoors each day. Make sure your child is dressed for the weather.

• Lunch:

• Families may choose to participate in the school lunch program for an additional fee.
• OR bring a cold lunch from home (children who bring a lunch from home may purchase milk).

  Serving Children with Special Needs in School Age Care

  School Age Care strives to serve all children. With appropriate advanced planning, most children with special needs can successfully participate. School Age Care does not responsible for the implementation of a child’s IEP (the IEP is part of the instructional day).

  School Age Care is a very active childcare environment, with multiple free-choice activities. Children, staff, and family come and go throughout our childcare schedule. Such a busy environment may not suit the needs of all children.

  In order to best meet special needs, the following is critical in determining the appropriate supports for success:

• Complete information regarding your child’s special needs including supports your child typically uses.
• Discuss your child’s needs with a School Age Care staff member before signing up.
• If it is determined a child needs additional support in order to be successful in School Age Care, without the need to significantly alter the program, enrollment will be dependent on finding the appropriate staff.

• Children whose behaviors create a safety risk, harm to themselves, others, or property, or for whom substantial alterations to the program are required, may be removed from the program or not approved for enrollment.

  School Age Care is dedicated to providing a safe and engaging environment for children that complements and enriches their educational experience in Hudson Schools. 

• Children learn through a wide variety of activities such as art, science, writing, reading, math, games, social skills, gym time, outdoor play and unstructured play.   
• Children are encouraged to explore their own interests, develop friendships and grow in confidence, independence and respect for themselves and others. 

• Connection and relationship building is at the core of our work.
