Wisconsin Act 55

• Under section 120.12(13) each school district must annually notify parents and guardians of the academic standards that the school board adopted pursuant to section 118.30(1g)(a) and that will be in effect for the current school year.
• The specific content areas that must be addressed within this annual notice are mathematics, science, reading and writing, geography, and history.
• Section 120.12(13) also requires each school board to annually include, as an item on the agenda of the first school board meeting of each school year.
• Districts may provide the notice electronically, including by posting the notice or a link to the specific academic standards on the school district's website.
• This change became effective July 14, 2015.
